I know...

Gone.  Again.

Sure there are several things that I could place blame on and why I've been gone this time, but why bother.  It will only make me annoyed that I let that interfere, so I will just let it go.  I have however, thought of this place, and people who peek in a lot and I still have been documenting things... just haven't made it on here to share it.

So with that, the next few bits will be backlogged photographs of outfits, my yard, my dogs, and my beginning adventures into finally taking up my cello with proper lessons and all!

work work work.  i've been doing a lot of it.  in some weird way, both jobs seem to balance each other out.  a good thing?  it's also so hard to believe that we're in entering the last week of october!?  it's flown by, but i knew that it would.  my only heartache really is not knowing how to dress for halloween.  well, that, and not knowing what we're even going to be getting into?  maybe not all bad.  it's been quite awhile since i've had a laid back halloween, and maybe that's in order for this year.  i guess we'll see what happens!

every fall in new mexico we'd go to mccalls pumpkin patch just outside of the city.  i know i know, pumpkins in the desert?  so when we moved back into the mountains of virginia you would assume that would be the first thing we'd do once it was fall again.. yeah not so much.  it's taken us 5 years to get to a pumpkin patch since we've been back in virginia.  that is unacceptable!   so we fixed that on saturday.  

what kills me is that the pumpkin patch we went to is so close to where we live and you pay $25 and fill up an industrial garden wagon with as many pumpkins as you can pick!  i was glad to share wagon space with my sister and my two nieces as well!  the only sad thing is the amount of pumpkins.  granted we did go a bit late, but at least we know when to go next year to get the bigger pumpkins, and the white pumpkins!

getaway day pt.1 - smith mountain lake

i love to swim, but i don't get to swim often because most pools use chlorine which will wreak havoc on my hair(i know, i know...) so when our yearly smith mountain lake trip comes around i get really excited!  now i'm pretty new to this lake.  it's a man made lake that was constructed in the 1960's.  it's about 3 hours away from where i live in virginia, but it's a pretty drive and this lake is worth it.  

we always go with my biological mum, step dad, and little sister who lives in CA.  it's nice to be able to spend time with all of them because our schedules are so different, and we don't get to see meg much because of distance.  yesterday was one of the first days in a long time where i truly felt like i was getting a break and actually able to relax.

nearly a week

so it's been nearly a week since the removal of my 4 wisdom teeth, and things are slowly getting back to normal.  yesterday and today i've been really trying to push myself back into a normal routine.  i've been able to sleep more since i've not been taking as much medication for the pain, and last nite was the first nite that i was able to sleep without being propped up like the elephant man.  this morning the swelling had gone down even more, but it made the bruising more noticeable.  so of course, i took a photo.  

i start back at work tomorrow, which is going to kill me with having had all this down time and actually needing it.  i'm thankful that at least i'm off the following 2 days to recover from that and the memories/heartache.  hard to believe it's been a year already.

7.12.2011 operation wisdom teeth : blood ahead

[ this is bigtoe.  bigtoe has gone through some pretty heavy things in the past year.  this is also my amazing manicure that i had to remove before surgery.  they said that sometimes the heart monitor can't read through poilsh.]

[passed out once home.  cosette hasn't left my side since the 12th]

[after my first gauze change at home and after a huge clean up.  pretty good bloody spit string though.  i hardly remember this being taken, but glad it was.]

[after the second gauze change.  i quit bleeding by 10pm or so.  the teabags helped a lot.]

in short, i survived.  really proud of myself for actually going through with it.  2 of the 4 teeth had to be broken so they could be removed.  but they gave me all of them, which makes me happy.  now if this massive amount of swelling would go down.  at least i'm able to sleep today.

it's been awhile

it's been awhile.  a long while.  not as long as i wanted to go without an update of sorts.  shame!  i partly blame life in general(work, school, etc.), and the link to the left that says tumblr.  i added that because it's almost like a daily blog through photos.  either my own, or others found that are relevant.

a lot has been happening.  i have one week left to go of school.  throughout school i've done more than 30 manicures and more than 20 pedicures, over 200 fingers of various nail enhancements like tips, fiberglass wraps, hard UV gels, and acrylic overlays and sculpts.  my current GPA is a B+ and i will take that considering how much has gone on in my life these past 5 months OUTSIDE of school, and with working 45hrs a week and not missing one day of class.  

i am hoping that sometime in august will be when i attend my state board practical, and my state board written i'd like to be done with sometime in july.

my wisdom teeth.  one of the top things that i have feared since i was 18.  it happens on july 12th at 9.10am. this is a HUGE deal for me, but i think i'm ready for it.  the left side will be the worse.  the right has my upper grown through, and the lower sitting upright, not sideways.  it's nice to know that it will be happening when i've taken time off work.  mostly for this.  

so yes.  things and stuff, and more things and stuff.  i'll try much harder, and will have more time once next week is out of the way.  maybe

not really a lot to say.  mercury goes into retrograde tomorrow until april 23rd.  keep a calm mind and take everything with a grain of salt.  i had to remind myself of this!
